JCCPD: Man Wanted for Sex Offense Arrested in Chesapeake

JAMES CITY COUNTY — A 21-year-old man wanted by James City County Police for sexual assault and abduction is in custody after being located and arrested by the Chesapeake City Police Department on May 9.

According to police, Nijhad “Jhad” Johnson was wanted in connection with an incident in the 6400 block of Richmond Road on April 22 at approximately 11 a.m.

Johnson is currently being held without bond in the Chesapeake City Jail. Police continue to investigate the incident, and Johnson is expected to be transferred to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, police said.

The James City County Police Department thanked the public for its continued assistance in raising awareness and for providing numerous tips.
