UPDATE: Overnight Ramp Closures on Route 199 Rescheduled

UPDATE — The ramp closures on Route 199 (Humelsine Parkway) at the Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) and Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) interchange in James City County and York County have been rescheduled. James City County will provide another update once the dates are scheduled.

HISTORIC TRIANGLE — The Virginia Department of Transportation is scheduled to implement a series of overnight ramp closures on Route 199 (Humelsine Parkway) starting as early as April 24-27.

According to James City County, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are scheduled to implement alternating full ramp closures at the Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) and Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) interchange in James City County and York County, with signed detours in place for tree trimming operations.

The alternating ramp closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the pairings listed below, weather and schedule permitting:

• On-ramp from Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) to Route 199 west (Humelsine Parkway) and off-ramp from Route 199 west (Humelsine Parkway) to Route 143 (Merrimac Trail)
• On-ramp from Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) to Route 199 west (Humelsine Parkway) and off-ramp from Route 199 west (Humelsine Parkway) to Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail)
• On-ramp from Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) to Route 199 east (Humelsine Parkway) and off-ramp from Route 199 east (Humelsine Parkway) to Route 60 (Pocahonas Trail)
• On-ramp from Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) to Route 199 east (Humelsine Parkway) and off-ramp from Route 199 east (Humelsine Parkway) to Route 143 (Merrimac Trail)

The county notes only one pairing of ramp closures will be in place at a time. As all work is weather and schedule dependent, the schedule is subject to change.
