JAMES CITY COUNTY — The James City County Department of Social Services office will close on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. for staff development, reopening Wednesday at 8 a.m., the county announced.
The county said the agency drop box located in the parking lot of the James City County Human Services Center, 5249 Olde Towne Road, can be used to leave applications and other paperwork.
To report suspected child abuse or neglect, call the Virginia Child Abuse hotline at 1-800-552-7096. To report suspected adult abuse, neglect or exploitation, call the Virginia Adult Abuse hotline at 1-800-832-3658.
Voice mail messages left on the eligibility line — 757-259-3131 — will be returned on March 8, the county said. Reports on changes and applications are also accepted on the CommonHelp website at www.commonhelp.virginia.gov.
