More Area Students Recognized by Colleges and Universities

HISTORIC TRIANGLE — Colleges and Universities continue to release Fall 2022 academic recognitions, and area students are making the grade.

Miami University

Nick Barrows was named to the Miami University fall 2022-23 President’s list.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for the fall semester 2022-23 have been named to the President’s list recognizing academic excellence.

Barrows, from Yorktown, is earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.

The part-time dean’s list at Miami University Regionals is reserved for students with a 3.6 or higher GPA who were enrolled in less than 12 graded credit hours during the fall 2022 semester.

Abbie Lichtenstein of Williamsburg is being recognized for this academic achievement.

Miami University is a public university located in Oxford, Ohio. With a student body of nearly 19,000.

University of Vermont

The University of Vermont announceed the following local students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2022 semester.

  • Sarah Harris, from Williamsburg, majoring in Forestry.
  • Faith Murray, from Williamsburg, majoring in Neuroscience.
  • Austin Windley, from Williamsburg, majoring in Computer Science.

To be named to the dean’s list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Located in Burlington, the University of Vermont educates over 14,000 undergraduate students, graduate students, certificate and non-degree students, and M.D. students in the Larner College of Medicine.

Western Carolina University

Jennifer Wagner, of Yorktown, was named to the Western Carolina University Fall 2022 Chancellor’s List.

Wagner was among more than 2,000 students to achieve this honor. To qualify for the Chancellor’s List, students must earn a GPA of 3.8 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Wagner was also named to the Fall 2022 Dean’s List. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours.

The westernmost institution in the University of North Carolina System, WCU is surrounded by the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains.

University of New Hampshire
