JAMES CITY COUNTY — The James City County Police Department said its Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating a stabbing that occurred Saturday night at Busch Gardens.
According to police, on Sept. 14 at approximately 9:50 p.m., the department responded to a report of a fight in progress called in by an employee in the France area of Busch Gardens. The individuals involved had fled the scene by the time police arrived.
While the surrounding area was secured, searched and evidence was gathered, an 18-year-old male approached officers at the park entrance and reported that he had been stabbed. It was determined that the victim had been involved in the altercation that occurred minutes before, according to police.
James City County Medics were dispatched to the park to provide medical assistance, and the victim was transported to Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. No other injuries related to the incident have been reported.
Responding police personnel established a crime scene, and the department’s Criminal Investigations Unit subsequently responded to take over the active investigation, police said.
