NORFOLK — The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command and surrounding Salvation Army Corps will soon open registration for its Angel Tree Program.
Angel Tree is a holiday assistance program that provides Christmas gifts to children and families in need.
At Christmas, The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command said there is a special call to remember the children who may not have the luxury of a joyful holiday season.
The Salvation Army aims to ensure every child has a joyous Christmas morning, it said.
Families in need, individual donors, and corporate partners can connect with The Salvation Army that serves their community to either register as a client or become a supporter:
- Virginia Peninsula Corps — Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Lower York, Mathews and Gloucester Counties. Registration dates are Sept. 2 to Sept. 16. Online client registrations can be completed here.
- Williamsburg Corps — Registration dates are Sept. 23 to Oct. 4. Online client registrations can be completed here.
The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command serves south side Hampton Roads and its surrounding communities with programs and locations that serve families in need.
Programs include emergency assistance, housing, substance abuse treatment, youth enrichment opportunities, spiritual care, Adult Rehabilitation Center, Residential Housing for Young Mothers and their Children, Christmas Assistance programs, The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, Emergency Shelters, Family Services, Disaster Assistance, Volunteer Outreach and more.
