JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County has launched its Strategic Plan Update, a process to revise the currently-adopted 2035 Strategic Plan, and county residents are invited to provide input on the values and goals that will guide in its development.
The first Strategic Plan Public Open House will take place on Monday, Sept. 9 at Legacy Hall, 4301 New Town Ave. at 6 p.m.
Registration is encouraged but not required.
Shaped by community feedback, the updated Strategic Plan will guide future investments, the provision of public services and facilities, and county work plans for coming years.
This planning initiative sets out priorities to be incorporated into future county budgets and capital improvement plans, as well as new initiatives undertaken by county departments.
By offering a framework for informed decision-making, the plan ensures that choices are consistent with the county’s long-term objectives. It also promotes transparency and accountability by outlining goals and methods for achieving them.
The plan will prepare the county for future challenges and opportunities through proactive planning, incorporates community input to reflect residents’ needs and service priorities, and establishes benchmarks for measuring progress and effectiveness.
