HISTORIC TRIANGLE — Here is how local offices and services are impacted by the New Year’s holiday.
James City County
James City County offices, facilities, services, libraries and courts will observe the following schedule for the holidays:
County Offices:
Closed Jan. 1.
James City County Recreation Center and Abram Frink Jr. Community Center:
Closing at 6 p.m. Dec. 31 and closed Jan. 1.
Parks:
All County parks are open year-round.
Park Stores and Guest Services Offices:
Chickahominy Riverfront Park, Little Creek Reservoir Park, James City County Marina and Freedom Park office/stores are closed Jan. 1.
Tewning Road, Jolly Pond Road and Toano Convenience Centers:
Closed Jan. 1.
Garbage Transfer Station:
Closed Jan. 1.
Curbside Recycling:
One day delay beginning Jan. 1. Monday’s will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday’s on Wednesday, etc.
A reminder about boxes — residents can flatten extra boxes and slide them in between the lid and the cart (like a clipboard). TFC does not pick up items left outside of the cart.
Libraries:
Closed Dec. 31-Jan. 1.
Courts:
Closed Jan 1-2.
City of Williamsburg
City of Williamsburg offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, and Tuesday, Jan. 2. This includes all offices in the Municipal Building on Lafayette Street.
Quarterpath Recreation Center will be closed Sunday, Dec. 31 and Monday, Jan 1. Waller Mill Park will be closed Monday, Jan. 1.

Those who need to pay a City bill when offices are closed are encouraged to use the 24-hour bill payment dropbox located at the front of the Municipal Building, 401 Lafayette St. Payments can also be made online. Dropbox payments made on Monday, Jan. 1, or Tuesday, Jan. 2, will not be posted until Wednesday, Jan. 3, the city said.
Garbage
Garbage collection will be delayed by one day the week Jan. 1. Monday’s garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, and Tuesday’s garbage will be picked up on Wednesday.
Leaf Collection
Residential curbside leaf collection will be delayed by two days the week of Jan. 1. Collections will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

York County Offices, York-Poquoson Social Services, and Waste Management Center Administrative Offices
Closed Dec. 29, and Jan. 1
York County Public Libraries
Closed Dec. 29, 31, and Jan. 1. The libraries will be open Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court
