Clothing Drive Calls for Professional Attire, Children’s Coats

W-JCC Community Action Agency The Williamsburg-James City County Community Action Agency and 3E Restoration are partnering up for a professional clothing and coats-for-kids drive.

The Community Action Agency is a public-private partnership dedicated to reducing poverty and promoting self-sufficiency in the Greater Williamsburg area.

3E Restoration, a Christian ministry organization, partners with churches and faith communities to “encourage, equip and empower” people in need, particularly the homeless or those in extreme poverty.

The two organizations have joined forces to hold a clothing drive to meet the needs of the people they serve, which will last from now through Oct. 14.

The Community Action Agency is in need of coats to distribute to children in need as cold weather approaches. Donations of new coats sizes 3T through 8 for both boys and girls will help ensure no child in the area has to suffer in the cold this winter.

3E hopes to help unemployed residents of the Historic Triangle get back on their feet and back in the workforce by providing them with gently used professional clothing suitable for interviews and basic office jobs. This includes black pants and skirts, button-down shirts, work-appropriate shoes and heels, black belts, polo shirts, sweaters and jackets.

Women’s sizes 10 and up are particularly in demand, but both men’s and women’s clothing is needed.

Items for both drives can be dropped off at the Williamsburg Area Association of Realtors office at 5000 New Point Road, Suite 1101, or at the Kingsmill Realty Office at 100 Kingsmill Road.
