The DeGood Foundation – the home of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Hampton Roads – is taking fundraising to new heights with Over The Edge, a unique fundraiser where the bravest of literacy lovers will rappel 150 feet down the side of the 11-story Newport News Marriott at City Center as their reward for each raising $1,000 or more to support The DeGood Foundation and their book-gifting program, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The program mails one, free, brand-new, age-appropriate book every month to enrolled children from birth until their fifth birthday. The DeGood Foundation mails books to over 4,500 children each month, has mailed over 60,000 books since the program’s launch in the 757, and has graduated over 1,000 children from the program.
