WJCC Schools Third Annual Give Back Week Strengthens Community Bonds
For the third consecutive year, dozens of WJCC Schools leaders put the community first by volunteering during WJCC Schools Give Back Week.
According to WJCC Schools, school and division leaders rolled up their sleeves alongside local organizations to make real impact beyond their schools to kick off the 2025-26 school year. Volunteers helped with projects ranging from sorting food and clothing donations to environmental cleanup and educational outreach.
During time at the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, WJCC Schools volunteers assembled 360 boxes of non-perishable staples totaling about 9,000 pounds of food. Other volunteers sized and labeled clothing to help ensure the FISH Inc. clothes closet is stocked before school starts, while still others interacted with hundreds of young readers during Terrific Tuesday and Fun Friday at Williamsburg Regional Library. Some even got their steps in while cleaning up two to three miles of the Virginia Capital Trail, among many other noteworthy projects, according to the division.
According to WJCC Schools, Give Back Week, has grown into a cornerstone of the division’s Summer Leadership Institute.
