Index AR Solutions CEO Dan Arczynski Appointed to William & Mary Veteran-to-Executive Transition Advisory Group

Index AR Solutions recently announced the appointment of its President and CEO, Dan Arczynski, to the William & Mary Military and Veteran Affairs Advisory Group.
Arczynski is a U.S. Army veteran and co-founder of Index AR Solutions. The W&M MIL/VET Advisory Group serves as a strategic body helping to expand and sustain the university’s military and veteran engagement, educational pathways and career transition programs.
Arczynski will serve a three-year term on the Resource Development Committee. Former U.S. Secretary of Defense and current William & Mary Chancellor Robert M. Gates serves as the honorary chair of the Advisory Group.
Annual Williamsburg Water Quality Report Now Available
The City of Williamsburg announced it has published its annual Water Quality Report.
The report details water quality results, identifies drinking water sources, and outlines treatment procedures for calendar year 2024.
According to the city, test results show that its water meets or exceeds required state and federal regulations. The report is available online at williamsburgva.gov/wqr. Paper copies are available in the Public Works Department in the Municipal Building and at the Williamsburg Library. A link to the report is also included on all water bills.
League of Women Voters-Williamsburg Area’s Annual Meeting Featured Panel Discussion JCC Community Service Agencies

A panel of three advocates on community needs addressed the annual meeting of the League of Women Voters at Legacy Hall on June 12.
Panelists were Aaron Thompson, Director of Old Towne Medical and Dental Center, Keith Denny, JCC Housing Programs Administrator, and Paul Scott, Executive Director of Child Development Resources.
Former State Sen. Monty Mason served as moderator.
Regular business was also addressed by League President Susan Bivins. Several by-law changes, a result of the National League of Women’s Voters new membership processes, were presented for acceptance. President Bivins also presented the League’s 2025 priorities and the slate of officers for next year.
Middle Peninsula Property Owners Encouraged to Register in Fight the Flood Database to Unlock Vital Funding Assistance
Rising waters are a present challenge for many property owners, and Fight the Flood is calling on homeowners, landowners and business owners across this rural coastal Virginia community to register their properties in the Fight the Flood database today.
Created by the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission, the Fight the Flood initiative connects property owners facing increasing flood risk with real financial support and technical expertise to fight back.
By registering in the Fight the Flood database, property owners initiate a streamlined process that connects them with available grants, low-interest loans and cost-sharing programs — including specialized assistance for septic upgrades and living shoreline installations, the commission said.
They’ll also be linked with a vetted network of local and regional businesses that specialize in evaluating, designing and building flood resiliency solutions, the commission noted.
To date, the Fight the Flood program has distributed over $45 million in financial assistance in the form of loans and grants since 2020.

Chesapeake Bank Serves Up World’s Largest Crab Cake to Celebrate 125 Years an Independent Community Bank

Chesapeake Bank unveiled what is believed to be the world’s largest crab cake in celebration of its 125th anniversary as an independent community bank Saturday, June 14.
According to the bank, the crab cake was hand-crafted in collaboration with Richmond seafood market Shoreline, tipping the scales at over 400 pounds. Measured 37 inches in diameter and 9 inches tall, it debuted at The Diamond just before the Richmond Flying Squirrels game before first pitch. First bites served up after the first inning and shared with fans starting at the top of the second.
Chesapeake Bank was founded in 1900 in Virginia’s Northern Neck. Events are planned throughout the year to mark this milestone year for the bank.
New Interactive Sign Unveiled at Greensprings Interpretive Trail

James City County Parks & Recreation held a sign unveiling at Greensprings Interpretive Trail on Wednesday, June 18, to celebrate the new interactive interpretive sign at the GST trailhead.
Through a grant from the Williamsburg Community Foundation and volunteers from the Historic Rivers Chapter of Virginia Master Naturalists, who researched and designed the sign, visitors can enjoy the new, interactive display which highlights the trail’s unique geological formation and the diverse range of plants and animals that call it home, enhancing the trail’s educational experience for all visitors, according to James City County.

Langley Federal Credit Union Named No. 1 Credit Union in Virginia by Forbes
Langley Federal Credit Union recently announced it has been named the No. 1 credit union in Virginia on Forbes’ 2025 list of America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions.
Forbes, in partnership with market research firm Statista, surveyed approximately 26,000 U.S. residents to determine the rankings, according to the credit union.. Respondents evaluated credit unions based on overall satisfaction and likelihood to recommend, as well as trust, customer service, digital tools, financial advice and fee transparency.
