Williamsburg Winery Welcomes Chef Shane Henderson as New Events Chef

WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Winery announced the appointment of Shane Henderson as its new Events Chef on Sept. 3.

The winery highlighted that Henderson brings over two decades of diverse and distinguished culinary experience to its team, adding that he has been a leader in some of the nation’s most esteemed kitchens, where he has consistently demonstrated a passion for innovation, quality, and guest satisfaction.

Most recently, Henderson served as Executive Chef at the historic Morrison-Clark Inn in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for all aspects of kitchen management, including menu development, staff training, and the sourcing of premium local ingredients. The winery noted that his ability to balance operational efficiency with creative excellence earned the restaurant widespread acclaim.

Prior to his tenure at Morrison-Clark, Henderson held key culinary positions with the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group, where he was the Executive Sous Chef, and the Meadowood Resort Hotel in Napa Valley, California, where he developed a la carte and prix fixe tasting menus that highlighted his skill in food and wine pairings. His experience also includes roles at Evening Star Café in Alexandria and Lowe’s Annapolis Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland, where he was described as being instrumental in shaping the culinary direction and enhancing the guest dining experience.

The Williamsburg Winery says Henderson will be at the helm of the culinary team for events and special occasions, creating “innovative and seasonally inspired menus that perfectly complement the winery’s award-winning wines,” adding that his deep understanding of flavor profiles, combined with his commitment to using the freshest local ingredients, will elevate the culinary offerings at Williamsburg Winery, “ensuring that every event is a memorable experience.”
