WILLIAMSBURG — A new bookstore, Turn the Page Bookshop, will be opening in the Williamsburg Premium Outlets in September.
Store owner Ralph Tedeschi is planning for a soft store opening on Sept. 1, with a grand opening celebration to come later.
He says the store will be a hybrid, offering both new and used books. It will also be full service, offering special orders, filling customers’ needs and special interests.
Donations of all kinds can be dropped off at the store, he added, and in exchange, the store will offer a 10% coupon for the donor’s next purchase at the store. There will also be a variety of discounts offered to seniors, military, students, and teachers.
“I used to be the manager of the Book Warehouse over at the mall for three and a half/four years before it was sold,” Tedeschi said. “I built it into a community-based store. When I first took over it was basically 90% tourists and 10% local — but I just redid the entire store and marketed it to locals, and by the time the store was sold it was 90% locals and 10% tourists.”
Tedeschi said he is excited to continue with his own store, and plans on offering a variety of events including author signings, a reader’s club, and coordinating with other local businesses in the area.
The location will be opening at 5707 in suite number 40. As yet, Tedeschi has not decided on hours of operation. Social media and a website are still in the works.
