WILLIAMSBURG — Family-friendly entertainment center Uptown Alley is targeting the spring of 2024 to open the doors on its Williamsburg location at the former Yankee Candle Building.
Uptown Alley, LLC formally purchased the 64,000-square-foot mixed-use property, situated on six acres on 2200 Richmond Road, for $4 million from Fulton Bank in April.
Williamsburg City Council unanimously voted to award a revenue-sharing incentive to Uptown Alley in November. The performance-based revenue-sharing agreement grants a percentage of the taxes that Uptown Alley will pay to the city over a five-year period. Capped at $600,000, it will be used for exterior improvements to modernize the building.
“We are super excited to be a part of the Williamsburg community!” Rachel Tally, Chief Marketing Officer for Uptown Alley commented on the new location. “We’ve had so much support already from the Economic and Tourism Development offices, as well as the Business Chamber and local businesses like Virginia Beer Company! We’re a family-owned business and being a part of a community that already treats us like family is just the icing on the cake!”
The business will include offerings such as upscale bowling, duckpin bowling, an arcade, a high-energy restaurant and bar and miniature golf as just some of the planned offerings. It hopes to be a place that caters to family nights, date nights, and both social and corporate events.
This will be the fourth U.S. location for the company. Other locations include Richmond, Manassas, and Surprise, Arizona.
No official date has been announced for the opening this time outside of spring 2024. Visit Uptown Alley’s official website and follow its Facebook page for updates on the Williamsburg Location.
