POQUOSON — Poquoson Farm Fresh will offer product samples, free giveaways and “unheard-of deals” at its grand opening.

The store, which originally closed its doors in 2018, will reopen to the public on Friday, April 1 with a grand celebration.

Raphael Strumlauf, president of Farm Fresh Poquoson, said that shoppers can look forward to special deals and freebies on the date of the grand opening celebration.

“We look forward to welcoming shoppers on Grand Opening day with unheard-of deals, product samples, and free giveaways – and every day thereafter, with a wide selection of products catered specifically to our customers’ needs,” Strumlauf said.

The 30,000 square-foot store located at 460 Wythe Creek Rd. will be operated by Strumlauf and Mark Green, who currently run three other independent grocery stores in Virginia, including the Farm Fresh in Richmond, Crozet Market in Crozet, and Market Street Market in Charlottesville.

Strumlauf said that Poquoson Farm Fresh will generate around 45 jobs for the community.

“It’s quickly apparent what a strong sense of community exists here, and by bringing back Farm Fresh, we’re looking forward to becoming an integral part of that community,” Strumlauf said. “Our goal is to truly contribute to the community—offering fresh and affordable groceries, including quality butcher-cut meats, locally sourced seafood, and fresh produce; hiring about 45 employees; and giving back to local schools, athletics, and nonprofits.”

Farm Fresh will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 1 at 8 a.m.
