POQUOSON — The Farm Fresh grocery store in Poquoson will welcome the community back with a grand opening on Friday, April 1.
The store, which closed its doors in 2018, will reopen to the public, generating approximately 40 jobs for the community.
“We look forward to welcoming Farm Fresh to the Poquoson community,” Poquoson Mayor Gordon Helsel, Jr. said. “Their focus on a variety of fresh seafood is a natural fit for the City’s coastal heritage. We’re also pleased with the significant number of jobs their presence in the City will create.”
The 30,000 square-foot store located at 460 Wythe Creek Rd. will be operated by independent grocers Raphael Strumlauf and Mark Green, who currently run three other independent grocery stores in Virginia, including the Farm Fresh in Richmond, Crozet Market in Crozet, and Market Street Market in Charlottesville.
The store, which will operate under the Farm Fresh name, has undergone improvements and renovations for its reopening.
Farm Fresh Poquoson will offer an extensive selection of fresh seafood, Certified Angus Beef, custom cuts, local and organic produce, craft beer, local offerings, a deli, salad bar, hot foods and the beloved Farm Fresh fried chicken.
Farm Fresh will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 1 at 8 a.m.
