VIRGINIA BEACH – Hilltop Plaza is about to get more beautiful.
At least the space between Chesapeake Bay Diving and Guads Mexican Restaurant that is.
Ulta Beauty Inc., the largest beauty retailer in the United States, is opening a store in Hilltop Plaza, which along with Town Center and Landstown Commons will give the company three Virginia Beach retail stores.
The newest Ulta Beauty location will be in the space most recently occupied by Joann Fabrics, which this summer moved to a bigger space at the western end of the plaza.
A spokeswoman for Ulta said the store will open in 2019, but declined to be more specific. The new store will follow the Ulta format and will provide a similar experience to the other Virginia Beach locations. The store will be at least 10,000 square feet, she said, as are all Ulta retail stores.
Ulta sells cosmetics, fragrances, skin care and hair products, and offers salon services.
The company is headquartered in Bolingbrook, Ill. and opened its first retail location in 1990. The company now operates 1,163 stores across 50 states.
