Twice as Nice is good as gone in Williamsburg.

The consignment shop on Richmond Road has closed its doors for good, according to its Facebook account.

The shop was an upscale seller of children’s and women’s apparel. As a consignment shop, consignors brought in their gently-used high-end clothing, which were then sold within the store.

Twice as Nice moved into the city and received a business license in August 2017, according to Williamsburg Commissioner of Revenue Lara Overy. The store occupied a brick home at the corner of Richmond Road and Wythe Street, across the street from Richmond Hall.

The business license was in the name of owner Nina Watkins, Overy said.

Through a Facebook message, the Facebook account’s manager told WYDaily that after 10 years they had decided to retire, although declined to confirm whether the account was managed by Watkins.

“We are grateful to all the wonderful folks in the community and surrounding areas who have both shopped and consigned with us over ther [sic] years,” the message said. “We will miss you all and hope you have a lovely holiday season.”

They also did not provide the date they officially closed.

Before moving into the city, the business operated on Strawberry Plains Road in James City County beginning in 2009.
