WILLIAMSBURG — The City of Williamsburg’s Architectural Review Board approved an application for signage for a potential new Insomnia Cookies storefront during the Tuesday, Nov. 23 meeting.

The popular national bakery chain geared toward college students is looking to open a new location at 100 College Row, Bld 2, Ste 2107 in Midtown Row, according to the proposed sign application.

The application was for an 18-square-foot internally illuminated building sign and a two-square-foot internally illuminated blade sign, containing a cookie shape with lettering.

Hannah Warner, spokesperson for Midtown Row, said that the lease for Insomnia Cookies has not yet been finalized, but that they are looking to have a fully executed lease in the coming weeks.

Typically located near college campuses, Insomnia Cookies specializes in warm cookies, brownies, ice cream and baked goods and offers late-night delivery to customers’ doors.

Insomnia Cookies has over 100 locations, including five currently in Virginia.
