The temperature may be cooling down as November approaches, but Chick-fil-A fans can soon enjoy their favorite sandwich outside on Richmond Road.

They just might want to wear a jacket.

Chick-fil-A, the newest tenant to Tribe Square, asked the City of Williamsburg for permission to set up a dining area on their outside patio.

The city’s Architectural Review Board unanimously approved the request Oct. 9, allowing the eatery to place 11 tables with chairs and red umbrellas on the patio facing Richmond Road.

William & Mary spokeswoman Suzanne Clavet said the patio tables, chairs and umbrellas are expected to be in place by the end of 2018.

The tables and chairs will be welded aluminum with a bronze powder coat finish.

The chain offers a variety of menu options including breakfast items, salads, Waffle Potato Fries, fruit cups, lemonade, treats and their signature chicken.

The Tribe Square Chick-fil-A accepts meal plan Dining Dollars, W&M Express and cash and credit.

Tribe Square is a mixed-use student residential and business building at 249 Richmond Road, across the street from the William & Mary main campus.

The restaurant is open to both the college community and the public.
