Greater Williamsburg residents can expand their beer bellies by trying various brews at the Whistle Belly festival.
The fourth annual beer festival is returning Aug. 4 from 7 to 11 p.m., according to a press release from event presenters DoG Street Pub and the Junior Women’s Club of Williamsburg.
Whistle Belly will offer guests 80 craft beers from more than 30 breweries. For a list of breweries, check out the event’s website.
Guests can also sample food from The Catering Company, DoG Street Pub, Trellis Bar & Grill, Blue Talon Bistro and Culture Café. Cuisine will be state-fair inspired, according to the release, and will include items corn dogs, funnel cakes and wings.
Irish band The Fighting Jamesons will provide music. Guests will also be able to shop and dine in Merchants Square shops and enter to win raffles.
“Whistle Belly is a craft beer and food festival that elevates an evening of libations into an adventure of more than 70 beers and state fair inspired food,” said Lauren Moore, general manager of DoG Street Pub and Whistle Belly organizer. “Whistle Belly has become the premier Williamsburg beer event that raises money for a worthy nonprofit.”
Proceeds will benefit the Junior Women’s Club of Williamsburg and will also go toward scholarships for high school students.
Admission is $50 and includes drinks and all-you-can-eat food. Tickets can be purchased at Whistle Belly’s website, and will be $5-10 more at the gate.
“Whistle Belly is always a fun way for JWCW to kick off our club year,” said Kate Teiken, club president. “It is the first of several events we host throughout the year that help us to raise thousands of dollars that we are able to put right back into our community.”
VIP early admission begins at 6 p.m. and is sponsored by Billsburg Brewery and Alewerks Brewing Co.. VIP tickets are $70.
