Update: Dare Road reopens after vehicle catches fire

Update 12:30 p.m.: Dare Road is open again, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said.

Original Story: Dare Road in York County is closed as because of a vehicle fire, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office says.

A trash truck caught on fire Thursday morning at the corner of U.S. 17 and Dare Road, according to the sheriff office’s Facebook page.

The incident will cause drivers to be rerouted onto Constitution Drive until further notice.
