WILLIAMSBURG — Bruce Laubach, President of The Williamsburg Chapter of The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), presented the winners of the SAR Brochure Contest at Walsingham Academy on June 6.
- Kate Blinn, whose brochure on the Constitution won first place at the seventh grade level for the Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution (VASSAR), overall winner and first place seventh grade for the Williamsburg Chapter. The brochure will be submitted to the national level competition as a representative of the Virginia Society SAR.
- Arianna Kokolis, for a brochure on the Declaration of Independence which won second place for seventh grade, Williamsburg Chapter VASSAR.
- Corbin Bergot for a brochure on the Federalist Papers that won first place, sixth-grade level, Williamsburg Chapter VASSAR.
- Laurel Amos, whose brochure on the Bill of Rights won second place, sixth-grade level, Williamsburg Chapter VASSAR.
The Sons of the American Revolution Williamsburg Chapter is part of a national society that “strives to remember and honor the patriots who sought our nation’s independence during the Revolutionary War.” It supports the community by hosting commemorative events and acknowledging members of the community who do commendable works that support the organization’s ideals, including citizenship and patriotism
