Today is the last day to register to vote in Virginia’s election

Monday Oct. 16 is the last chance to register to vote for the Nov. 7 general election in Virginia.

Local voter registrar’s offices accept voter registration applications in person, but Virginia residents can also register on the Department of Elections website by clicking here.  

Voters who changed their name or moved residences may need to update their voter information by clicking here, submitting a change of address form to the Department of Motor Vehicles, or by sending a letter to their general registrar, according to the Virginia Department of Elections website.

Registered voters who have moved residences within the Commonwealth can vote in the precinct of their last registered address unless their registration has been transferred or cancelled, according to the Virginia Department of Elections website.

Voters who are unable to make it the polls on Nov. 7 may be able to cast an absentee ballot, according to the Virginia Department of Elections website.
