Williamsburg to host JV boys’ basketball classic Saturday

Eight junior-varsity boys’ basketball teams will meet for a one-day, preseason tip-off classic in Williamsburg on Saturday.

The free event, sponsored by the City of Williamsburg Parks and Recreation Department, is open to the public, according to a release.

The action will unfold at the Quarterpath Recreation Center, 202 Quarterpath Rd. The first game starts at 9 a.m. and the last is at 4 p.m.

“We are extremely excited to be able to host this event,” Recreation Supervisor Tyler Cobb said in a release. “It’s a great way for these teams to tip-off their season and we look forward to an outstanding day of basketball.”

The participating teams are Lafayette High School, Peninsula Catholic High School, Bruton High School, the Hampton Roads Cougars, Jamestown High School, Hampton Roads Academy, Warhill High School, and Williamsburg Christian Academy.
