The National Weather Service has issued a coastal hazard warning for certain areas along the James River. According to the report, high tide will run about a foot above normal throughout mid to late morning Friday.
Friday’s notice states that tide levels will approach minor coastal flooding thresholds within two hours of high tide.
According to NWS, the result could lead to inundation of water near low-lying, riverside areas, as well as minor flooding in property.
According to figures provided by NWS, the tidal surge could return around 11 p.m. Friday and again at high tide around 12 p.m. Saturday. The surge is predicted to drop below a foot by 12 a.m. Sunday.
