City of Williamsburg Police have released the name of the man who was struck and killed by a train Friday morning in Williamsburg.
The victim has been identified as Kenneth Gene Graham III of Cool Ridge, W.Va.
Graham, 25, is believed to have been on the tracks in the early morning hours of May 20 when he was struck by a CSX train. The accident occurred in the 700 block of Lafayette Street, northwest of the city government offices and just beyond Harrison Avenue.
Police responded to the scene around 3:15 a.m. and found Graham’s body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
After completing a preliminary investigation, police determined the incident appears to have been accidental. Witnesses interviewed by police said Graham, who was working as a contractor in the area, was crossing the tracks to return to his hotel.
