A Virginia Beach Park will close for six months as the city works to reverse severe erosion.
Woodstock Cove Neighborhood Park in Kempsville will close Oct. 30 for repairs and reopen in the spring with new life — in the form of added infant trees and grass.
The 30-acre park is at 609 Woodstock Rd.
A bank along the park’s opening trail has eroded to the point that its integrity is threatened, the city said in statement.
The rehabilitation effort will include removing mature trees and shrubs and supplanting them with grass. That should create stability, the release said. The city will add new trees to the park’s interior in spring, replacing the mature ones that are removed.
