Date: June 25 through July 20
Location: Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall on the campus of the College of William & Mary
Event Information:
The Official State Festival of Virginia celebrates its 36th anniversary season this year with the summer performances of “Illyria, a Musical 12th Night” and “Julius Caesar.”
“Illyria, a Musical 12th Night” opens June 25 for a glorious revival. The show is a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” that keeps much of the Bard’s language and adds musical numbers that would do Disney proud. “Illyria” is a blast and a show that enchants the audience from start to finish.
“Julius Caesar,” the most famous of all the Roman plays, opens July 10. Many of you may have read the play in middle or high school but you will not fully understand the power of the tragedy until you see it played out on stage.
