On Thursday, shout “bingo!” so that children have the opportunity to play soccer.
The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is holding its first-ever Bingo Night at Legacy Hall in New Town, which benefits the Legacy Annual Fund. The program awards scholarships to members of the club who otherwise would not have access to soccer or sports in general.
With the goal of never turning a child away on the basis of socioeconomic status, the Virginia Legacy provides about $50,000 in assistance every year.
Thursday’s event will start at 5 p.m., and will consist of three rounds of play with four games per round.
Players must be 18 or older to participate. For the $20 entry fee, players receive twelve bingo cards total—three per game for the four games of one round. Additional cards can be purchased at any time for any game throughout the night.
The first three games of each round will have a $25 payout, while the fourth round of play will have a $50 prize.
Food and beverages will also be available for purchase, and standard bingo rules apply.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Space is limited, and tickets are being sold in advance. Reserve seats and pre-pay the entry fee by calling the Legacy office at 253-8572. The office is open today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and opens at noon on Thursday.
