Caymus Colgan, Dawson Connell, Kurt Mittmann and Matthew Watts have a few things in common – they’re all standout athletes who are involved in various clubs and boast high GPAs. All four were also named senior of the month for October in the York County School Division.
Caymus Colgan of Tabb High participates on both the tennis and swim teams and served as the president of his sophomore class, the executive board webmaster of his junior class and vice president as a senior. He’s also the a member of two honor societies and the president of the Sight and Sound Club.
At York High, Dawson Connell is an avid runner as the captain of the cross-country and track teams and the winner of running events at the district, region and state levels. He’s a recipient of the West Point Leadership Award, a member of three honor societies and two clubs.
Among other things, Kurt Mittmann is an award-winning tennis player, receiving the Bay Rivers District Player of the year award and becoming the champion in the Bay Rivers District’s boys tennis singles and doubles matches. He’s the vice president of the Chemistry Honor Society, a member of the Mu Alpha Theta math club and he maintains a 4.1 GPA.
This month Grafton High is honoring the Varsity Football Captain Matthew Watts as its senior of the month. Watts was the class president every year of his high school career, and is the vice president of the Interact Club, under-secretary general of Model U.N., the delegate to Boys State, a HOBY Leader Ambassador and a member of three honor societies.
