The Mid-Atlantic English Springer Spaniel Rescue is hosting a Captain’s Choice Golf Tournament this weekend as a fundraiser for the organization.
MAESSR is a nonprofit volunteer organization based in the Richmond area, which is responsible for rescuing, caring for, fostering and finding homes for English Springer Spaniels. There are about 12 volunteers for the organization in the Williamsburg area, including John Keegan, the golf tournament’s coordinator.
The golf tournament will be held Saturday at Kiskiack Golf Club in Croaker. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Entry costs $65 per individual and $260 per team, with lizards and mulligans costing $5 each with a limit of two per person. The registration cost covers green fees, a cart, practice balls and an all-American cookout lunch. A raffle will be held to give away more than 60 prizes. Tickets for the raffle cost $10 for 12 tickets. Free range balls will also be available.
Registration for the tournament is still open; interested people are asked to register by Friday. Teams of four or individuals are welcomed to register.
For registration information, visit MAESSR’s golf tournament website, or call John Keegan, tournament coordinator at 757-869-3049.
Funds raised through the golf tournament are used only for the dogs’ rescue, foster and care.
