The City of Williamsburg continues to celebrate Arts Month this week. Check out a few of the events running this week below.
It will also be a week for the city to consider some design changes as the Architectural Review Board meets to consider a roof replacement and the planning commission considers several changes to the city’s design guidelines, including the possibility of neon signs in certain parts of the city. Architectural Review Board (ARB) Meeting
The ARB will meet on Tuesday to discuss to discuss changing gutters on the St. Lutheran Church at 608 Jamestown Road and a new roof on a building that stands at 1001 Richmond Road. Also on the agenda for the meeting is a discussion on whether to allow synthetic materials for planter boxes in the city’s design guidelines.
Planning Commission Meeting
The city’s planning commission will meet Wednesday to discuss sign regulations. They will discuss whether to give the arts district and college/commercial area of the city different sign districts than the rest of the city.
It will also discuss if a size regulation on open signs in the city should be deleted from the city’s design guidelines, if neon signs should be allowed in certain parts of the city, size regulation of real-estate signs, whether to extend the time allowed for grand opening signs to be displayed, allowing strings of lights in the city for purposes other than holiday decoration and a few more items.
