Boy Scouts who belong to Roman Catholic parishes in the Diocese of Richmond were awarded the Ad Altare Dei emblem during a Scout Mass at Saint Bede Catholic Church on March 3.
The purpose of the Ad Altare Dei (to the altar of God) program is to help Catholic Boy Scouts of the Roman Rite develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community.
The program is organized in chapters based on the seven Sacraments. The seven Sacraments are a primary means toward spiritual growth.
Scouts from BSA Troop 103 Williamsburg were present at the event to receive their award. Father Rob Cole is the Diocesan Chair for the Ad Altare Dei program for the Diocese of Richmond.
