Hometown: Colonial Behavior Health Offers Clinical Ethics Training

Colonial Behavioral Health is hosting a workshop March 15 called “Clinical Ethics in a Digital World.”

The workshop will take place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on March 15 at the James City County Recreation Center on Longhill Road.

Presenters will be Randy Walton, a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in practice for over 25 years, and Sarah Bisconner, a licensed applied psychologist who also has over 25 years of experience.

The course objectives are to:

  • Provide a brief overview of digital and social media platforms that may impact clinical practice
  • Review existing practice guidelines for use of digital and social media in clinical practice
  • Present a model for applying ethical principles to digital and social media in clinical practice
  • Review and discuss challenging clinical questions and scenarios involving digital and social media

The training will satisfy the Virginia Ethics credit requirement for mental health, substance abuse and behavioral health specialists by providing 2.5 contact hours in Ethics. Thecost is $55 for professionals and $20 for students.
