An episode of DC Cupcakes that was filmed at Colonial Williamsburg’s Regency Room at the Inn will air this Thursday evening.
The TLC show follows sisters and business partners Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis as they run Georgetown Cupcake, a small Washington, D.C., cupcakery that they’ve turned into a successful venture.
The Valentine’s Day episode this week will feature the sisters baking some treats for guests at the Regency Room, who got the unexpected surprise on Aug. 3.
According to the show’s blog, the sister’s were treated to a real Colonial Williamsburg-style experience as they got a chance to “make cupcakes from s-c-r-a-t-c-h. This means chopping firewood for the oven, gathering fresh eggs from the henhouse, and churning their own butter.”
According to Colonial Williamsburg, the cupcake desserts were part of a 75th anniversary dinner at the Inn – the photos show that the sisters added a little happy birthday flourish. The Inn has been celebrating the milestone in various ways all year, starting last April. Read more about the Inn’s history in a previous story.
The episode will air Thursday at 7 p.m. on TLC.
