Williamsburg’s Planning Commission will talk about the city’s planned infrastructure and facility improvements for the next five years on Thursday. City residents needing tax preparation assistance can get free help starting Feb. 2.
Planning Commission to Discuss CIP
The Planning Commission will meet for a work session to discuss the Five-Year Capital Improvement Program on Thursday.
The session will begin at 4 p.m. in the third-floor Conference Room in the Municipal Building, located at 401 Lafayette Street.
The Capital Improvement Program lists and prioritizes city construction projects over the next five years, including sidewalks, road improvements and facility investments. City Manager Jack Tuttle will be present to discuss the preliminary draft.
Citizens are invited to share input during an open forum.
Neighborhood Council to Host David Coe
Colonial Behavioral Health Executive Director David Coe will be the guest speaker for the next meeting of the Neighborhood Council of Williamsburg
CBH provides mental health, intellectual disability and substance use disorder services to citizens of the Historic Triangle and Poquoson. The Neighborhood Council will meet at 8 a.m. Feb. 2 at the Quarterpath Recreation Center.

Tax Assistance Offered at Quarterpath Recreation Center
Tax assistance is offered for free to qualifying individuals on Saturdays at the Quarterpath Recreation Center.
Service is available to individuals with low to moderate incomes, individuals with disabilities and the elderly who cannot afford tax preparation fees. The services are offered from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays from Feb. 2 to April 13.
Citizens seeking assistance should bring a government-issued picture ID, social security card, income W-2s/1099s, receipts for deductions, bank account information (a check) and 2011 federal and state returns.
