The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is holding its 11th annual Shop with a Sheriff campaign in December. With the help of local churches and schools, sixty children from York County and the City of Poquoson will be able to get Christmas gifts.
The children will arrive at the Walmart Super Center in Yorktown to go Christmas shopping with York-Poquoson Deputies at 8 a.m. on December 15. In order to make this an extra special day for the children, the Shop with a Sheriff committee is hoping to raise $9,000 before that day.
“Shop with a Sheriff helps many children through the generosity of our wonderful community,” according to a press release about the event. In order to continue to provide this positive and meaningful opportunity for the kids, Sheriff Danny Diggs is asking local businesses, community organizations, and individuals to contribute this year.
Checks can be made payable to Shop with a Sheriff and mailed to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office attn: Shop with a Sheriff, P.O. Box 99, Yorktown, Va., 23690. All donations are tax deductible.
