The Williamsburg-James City County Community Action Agency (WJCCCAA) is looking for help to support its Christmas food basket program.
The nonprofit has been putting together food baskets for families in need in the community for 36 years. Last year, the group served 495 families, though its major funder cut its financial support of the program by 40 percent.
The local CAA is looking for help to make this year’s program a success. “We are in desperate need of your help this year to meet the increased need,” according to WJCCCAA Executive Director Reba Bolden. “This year we expect to have 700 applications for the Christmas Baskets. Please help by donating cash or food to assist with a Merry Christmas.”
Baskets will be given out on December 19 at the Historic Triangle Center.
Donations of food can be dropped off at the CAA office at 312 Waller Mill Road, Suite 405. Cash donations can be sent through Dec. 4 to the WJCC Community Action Agency, 312 Waller Mill Road, Suite 405, Williamsburg, Va., 23185.
