YEP members welcomed the President of Young Adults for Alzheimer’s Awareness! Ginny Harrington to their monthly membership meeting on Sept. 25 at Towne Bank in New Town.  Harrington educated YEP members on the topic of Alzheimer’s, the mission of Alzheimer’s Association and the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Williamsburg, VA on October 27.

YEP meetings are held monthly and feature YEP business in addition to a professional development speaker.  Plan to join the next meeting at 6 p.m. on October 17 at Towne Bank New Town where Beyond Boobs! representatives will return to talk about breast health and awareness.  YEP meetings are open to anyone interested in learning more about the group.

YEP provides members ages 21 to 40 community service opportunities, professional development programs, along with social and business networking around the Williamsburg area. Their mission is to contribute to the economic and social vitality of the Peninsula by providing a forum in which young professionals can develop. YEP accepts new members all year. For more information search for YEP of Williamsburg on Facebook or go to the group’s website.

YAAA! is the young professionals group of the Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter. The mission is simple: to heighten awareness in the community about Alzheimer’s disease, raise funds to support the care of those affected, and to support the advancement of research towards a cure.
