Lackey Free Clinic has been awarded a grant for $12,000 from the Karene O’Hare Ovarian Cancer Memorial Fund, a component fund of the Williamsburg Community Foundation.
The funding will be used for the screening, testing and treatment of patients for ovarian cancer. The funds are raised through the Hare and Tortoise 8K Run/Walk. This year’s run will be held on Sept. 8 at New Quarter Park. For more information on the disease and on the run visit the event website.
