W&M’s Oliver Hague, Gur Trakhtenberg Named CAA Doubles Team of the Week

WILLIAMSBURG — Sophomore Oliver Hague and freshman Gur Trakhtenberg were named the CAA Doubles Team of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Hague and Trakhtenberg went 3-0 at the top doubles position during the week in helping W&M to a 2-1 start to the season. It marks the third weekly league doubles honor of Hague’s career and the first for Trakhtenberg.

The Tribe pair topped Norfolk State’s Vladisav Gorbatenko and Deniz Okyay, 6-2, in the opening win over the Spartans. Hague and Trakhtenberg went 2-0 on W&M’s Midwest trip, including a 6-3 victory over Notre Dame’s top team of Jameson Corsillo and Yu Zhang. In W&M’s 4-2 win over Northern Illinois, Hague and Trakhtenberg picked up win at No. 1 over Federico Scotuzzi and Iker Gaztambide Arrastia in leading the Tribe to the doubles point vs. the Huskies.

On the year, Hague and Trakhtenberg are 6-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 at No. 1.

The Tribe returns home this week for its first CAA match of the season when it welcomes Hampton to the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 5 p.m.
