WILLIAMSBURG — The William & Mary women’s gymnastics team posted an impressive performance but was edged by West Chester, 194.125-192.275, in front of a large and electric crowd at Kaplan Arena on Senior Day.
A trio of Tribe standouts highlighted W&M’s individual efforts, as Sofia Huang (vault, 9.800; career high), Caroline Blatchford (9.775, bars; equaled career high) and Michelle Ngo (9.825, floor) all claimed event titles.
Grace Costello also recorded a top-three finish by placing third on vault with a career-high 9.775, while she also tallied the squad’s best score on beam (9.725).
As a team, W&M’s best performance came on vault where it posted the seventh-best score in school history (48.725).
