RICHMOND — After helping the No. 22/24 William & Mary football team earn a thrilling 31-28 victory against Monmouth on Saturday, redshirt freshman tight end Sean McElwain was selected as the CAA Rookie of the Week.
McElwain led the Tribe’s air attack, as he posted career highs in receptions (6) and receiving yards (113) while averaging 18.8 yards per catch. His performance helped propel W&M to one of its best offensive efforts this season with 31 points and 283 passing yards.
The Glen Allen, Va., native currently ranks second on the team in receptions (19) and receiving yards (244).
He has been especially productive during the last three contests and is averaging 4.7 catches for 61.7 yards per game during the recent stretch.
W&M will return to action when it plays at UAlbany on Saturday at 1 p.m.
