W&M’s Alexandre Leblanc Wins Universal Tennis College Circuit Event

WILLIAMSBURG — Graduate student Alexandre Leblanc won the Universal Tennis College Circuit event at the Mackesy Tennis Center on Sunday.

Leblanc opened the day with a nearly spotless 6-1, 6-0 win over Matthew Staton. In the championship match against teammate Satchel Benn, the Kentucky transfer won the opening set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7), before claiming the event championship with a 6-4 victory in the second set. Leblanc moved to 7-1 in singles action during the fall.

Benn picked up his fourth win of the tournament and moved into the championship match with a 6-4, 6-3 over freshman teammate Oliver Hague. Benn is 6-2 in singles action during the fall.

Up Next
The Tribe returns to action next week at the River City Tennis Open in Richmond, Oct. 6-8.
