Moira Thomson scored three goals in the second half of York’s 4-0 road win against Poquoson on Monday.

After a scoreless first half, Thomson started the scoring in the 51st minute with her first goal of the contest.

Up next was Mariah Colon, who found the back of the net shortly after Thomson’s goal to put the Falcons up 2-0.

Thomson scored back-to-back goals to help the Falcons cap off the comfortable victory.

York (6-1) has won four consecutive games and will try to keep its win streak alive on Thursday at home against Lafayette.

Smithfield Blasts Warhill

Warhill’s road trip to Smithfield on Monday did not play out quite like the Lions expected, as they succumbed 6-1 to the Packers.

The Packers jumped on Warhill early and often in the first half, posting four goals in the first 40 minutes of play to take a 4-0 halftime advantage.

After a Smithfield goal in the 43rd minute, Warhill responded with its only goal of the game as Emma Locke scored off an assist from Shaye Doherty in the 50th minute to make the score 5-1 in favor of the Packers.

A Smithfield goal in the 67th minute all but iced the game for the Packers, who were too much for the Lions to handle.

Warhill (4-3) has now lost back-to-back games and will try to rebound Thursday at home against Jamestown.
