
After being held scoreless through the first six innings, Grafton came up with a pair of clutch RBIs to steal a 2-1 win at home against New Kent on Thursday.
New Kent took a 1-0 lead over the Clippers in the top of the sixth inning, the only real blunder by Grafton starting pitcher Becca Hallingstad on the day.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Jessica Sprouse smacked an RBI double to center field and brought home Grace Lineberry to tie the game at 1-1.
On the next at bat, Ansley Ashby hit a game-winning RBI single to center field that brought Sprouse across home plate and gave the Clippers a 2-1 victory.
Grafton (5-0) will look to stay undefeated at home against Lafayette on Tuesday.

Jamestown Falls Short Against Kecoughtan
After taking a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh inning, Jamestown allowed two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to fall 5-4 on the road against Kecoughtan on Thursday.
Trailing 1-0 heading into the top of the fourth inning, Jamestown took a 2-1 lead thanks to RBI hits by Tara Rouden and Sam Lee.
Kecoughtan responded with runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to take a 3-2 lead.
Lindsey Saunders gave the Eagles a lead with a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning, but Kecoughtan responded with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game.
Jamestown (1-3) will face a quick turnaround as the Eagles host Warhill on Friday.

Bruton Blows Out Washington & Lee
Bruton earned its first win of the season Thursday, routing Washington & Lee 15-5 on the road.
