
Max Poelker and Cameron Dail each scored a pair of goals to lead York to a 6-0 win against Denbigh during Wednesday’s showdown, which was part of the Christine Garvey Memorial Tournament.
The Falcons jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half behind a pair of goals by Poelker, as well as goals from Cameron Dunbar and Aaron Reyes.
Dunbar scored in the seventh minute off an assist from Poelker, who then scored a goal of his own in the 11th minute. Reyes scored a minute later off an assist from Dail. Poelker added his second goal in the 20th minute to give the Falcons a 4-0 lead.
Dail scored both of his second-half goals minutes apart, the first coming in the 72nd minute and the second come in the 74th minute.
York (2-0) will play in the Christine Garvey Memorial Tournament championship on Thursday against Grafton.

Grafton Cruises Past Kecoughtan
Grafton’s boys soccer team had no trouble getting past Kecoughtan 3-1 during Wednesday’s game in the Christine Garvey Memorial Tournament.
With the win, Grafton (2-0) will advance to take on York in Thursday’s Christine Garvey Memorial Tournament championship game.

Warhill posted its first shutout of the season, beating Bethel 4-0 Wednesday in the Christine Garvey Memorial Tournament.
While the Lions finished the tournament undefeated, they will not advance to Thursday’s championship game because of a lower goal differential than Grafton, which will play York in the finals.
Warhill (2-0) will now prepare to visit Colonial Heights on Tuesday.
