Hampton Roads Academy dropped its softball season opener Friday, falling to Collegiate School 19-0 in five innings at home.
The Navigators got off to a rough start in the top of the first inning, allowing seven runs to Collegiate School to put themselves in a deep hole early.
After adding a run both the second and third innings, Collegiate School put up another seven runs in the top of the fourth inning. An additional three runs in the top of the fifth capped the game, which was called because of a 10-run rule in the fifth inning.
